Zonzo Estate Wedding Photography

Planning your wedding at Zonzo Estate?
I’ve been photographing weddings at Zonzo for over 15 years and I’ve seen this place in just about every condition Melbourne can throw at it. Blistering 40-degree afternoons, sideways rain, moody winter skies and those perfect autumn evenings where the whole vineyard glows orange.
That’s probably why I still love coming back.
Every wedding here feels different because the venue gives us so much to work with. One couple might want vineyard sunsets, another might spend the whole night on the dance floor, and some of my favourite photographs have happened when nobody even realised I was there.
Why I love photographing Zonzo Estate weddings
One of the biggest advantages of Zonzo is that it’s a genuine all-in-one venue. You don’t need to disappear for an hour driving between photo locations because everything is already here.
Within a few minutes we have vineyards, olive groves, country roads, wide open paddocks, the lake, the chapel and one of the best sunset spots in the Yarra Valley. That means we can sneak away for twenty minutes, create some beautiful photographs, and get you back to your family and friends before anyone starts wondering where you’ve disappeared to.
Every season gives us something different. In summer, the sun drops behind the old barn and lights up the chapel and hay bales with this beautiful golden light. In autumn, the vines turn orange and the flame trees near the entrance become one of my favourite spots on the whole property. Then once the sun goes down, those famous festoon lights come alive. If you’ve ever seen one of those classic Zonzo night photographs under the lights, you’ll know exactly what I mean.
The food deserves a mention too. It doesn’t feel like typical wedding catering. It feels like walking into an Italian Nonna’s house where the pizzas just keep arriving. It’s relaxed, generous and everyone leaves happy.
The staff are just as good. I’ve worked alongside the team for years and they’re some of the friendliest people in the industry. In fact, I’ve even photographed a few of their own weddings—one of them was held right here at Zonzo. I think that says everything about how much they believe in the place.
I’m incredibly proud to be one of Zonzo Estate’s preferred photographers, but more than anything, I just love seeing couples have an amazing day here. It’s a venue that never feels forced, never feels rushed and somehow manages to produce completely different weddings every single weekend.

“John was hilarious, full of energy and his drive for perfection can be seen in his photography. The photos he produced for us are beautiful and his attention to detail is at an elite level.
He certainly is the master of his craft and I would recommend John without out a doubt. Thanks for making our day as special as you did John.”

There are only 52 Saturdays each year, and I only photograph one wedding a day. If you’re thinking about getting married at Zonzo Estate, I’d love to hear what you’re planning.
The best place to start is a relaxed Zoom chat. No sales pitch, no pressure—just a chance for us to get to know each other, answer your questions and see if we’re the right fit.
If it feels right, great. If it doesn’t, that’s completely okay too.
